Loong Fu Pai Belt System

Our belt levels are separated by age for Senior, Junior and Mascot levels. At each level the student has different requirements they must pass in order to attain grade. Refer to our Loong Fu Pai Handbook or your instructor for specific grading requirements.

When a member has a colour other than Black they are referred to as a 'KYU grade'. This denotes they are learning karateka. Loong Fu Pai has an annual Kyu Night to celebrate what the students have learnt and present a demonstration to family and friends.

Junior and Mascot levels are denoted by a white stripe on their belt as well as their level. Senior level has no white stripes just the colours denoting rank. An example of each Age level for 8th kyu is below:

Shodan = Sempai

Nidan = Dai Sempai
